CITY COUNCIL VOTES TO RETURN RACE STREET TO TWO-WAY
August 25, 2009 - The Cambridge City Council voted August 24 to return Race Street to two-way traffic as of September 15.
The 400 block had been one-way since January 2008, when a building fire prompted the installation of a facade stabilization system that extended into the street. For safety reasons, the city decided to make that block one-way. The stabilization system was removed earlier this summer.
